Be mindful of temperatures

This is another important key factor that you should always keep in mind. Propane tends to expand whenever it gets heated. So, you’ll probably see lower readings on your tank as temperatures decrease.

If the temperature drops below 60°C, then you should be really vigilant. Most delivery companies that come to fill your tank will use volume correction devices to ensure that it is properly topped off as well. 

Look out for leaks

It is also a good idea to conduct regular tank inspections. You should especially check for propane leaks, which cause wastage and could also be a health hazard.

You could simply pour some warm, soapy water on your tanks and the gas lines. If you have a leak, the water will bubble to the top. Once you notice this, get in touch with a professional company immediately.

Ensure ground stability

If you’ll be installing an above-ground tank, then you want to ensure that the ground beneath it is as level and stable as possible. This way, you avoid instances where the tank suddenly falls over.

In the installation process, always look to ensure that the platform on which yoru tank stands is in top condition and isn’t showing any visible signs of deterioration. If you’re putting the tank on a wood platform, then ensure that it’s in good shape and not in danger of rotting.
